Wooden decks, ramps, piers, and steps (around pools, lakes, marinas, etc.) are notorious for becoming slippery when wet. Constant moisture allows for the build-up of algae or mildew, causing the surface to become even more hazardous. Fiberglass deck plates are the ideal lightweight solution that can be installed on any structurally sound structure to eliminate the slippery surface. Although originally designed for use on wood decks, these deck strips can be quickly and easily installed on virtually any surface, such as aluminum, metal, or concrete.
While it is always important to exercise caution to avoid slipping and falling, our grit-coated deck plates will provide an extra level of safety without damaging your surfaces or being too obtrusive. The tapered design of both the 2” and 4” profiles eliminates any trip hazards while providing an aesthetically appealing product.
We offer our FRP Deck Strips for both residential and commercial installations. Our proprietary grit blend used in the residential sector is suitable for barefoot traffic, while we offer more aggressive grit textures, which are ideal for industrial applications. All of our FRP Deck Plates are available in lengths up to 144”.

Sure-Foot’s Grit-Coated FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymers) Deck Strips are made with a proprietary blend of mineral abrasive epoxy grit. Fiberglass deck strips are lightweight and ideal for use on structurally sound flooring and decking. Any walking surfaces, such as inclines, floors, steps, and decking, can be equipped with these Deck Plates. Sure Foot’s Deck Strips meet and exceed OSHA and ADA recommendations
for slip-resistance.
For residential and light industrial applications, Sure-Foot recommends the Lite Grit option. These Lite Grit Deck Strips are suitable for barefoot traffic and are available in 7 popular colors: Pool Blue, Tan, Brown, Grey, White, Yellow and Black
For commercial applications, our Medium Grit is a 20/30 Mesh Blend while our Heavy Duty/Coarse Grit is an 8/16 Mesh Blend of Mineral Abrasive Grit. Commercial Fiberglass Deck Strips are suitable for loading docks, walkways, bridges, piers, etc. (not suitable for barefoot areas). Both 2 and 4 inch widths are available in our Medium or Heavy Duty grit options and in our standard lengths of 24”, 36”, 48”, 60”, and 96”. Custom lengths are available up to 144” upon request. These should be installed using adhesive and/or mechanical fasteners.
